\"Logo<\/a>I was honored to speak recently at an annual meeting sponsored by the Department of Justice\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office of Violence Against Women<\/a>. Fund administrators from US States and Territories met in Louisville, Kentucky for updates on processes and procedures, to share best practices, and to develop strategies for shaping the future of their vitally important work.\u00c2\u00a0I collaborated with staff at the\u00c2\u00a0Alliance of Local Service Organizations (ALSO)<\/a> to prepare for the event.<\/p>\n

As the closing speaker, I helped participants explore the conference\u00c2\u00a0themes in a unique way: using the core elements of the conference\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s themes we created Keyword Learning Poems.<\/p>\n

This is what I call “Poetry with a Purpose.”<\/a> Inspiration met practicality as we explored the real world impacts of OVW funds rippling into the lives of recipients. Their funds provide a vital lifeline for many families\u00c2\u00a0living through the challenges of domestic violence; they\u00c2\u00a0support law enforcement and community services for women and children in crisis.<\/p>\n

Hart Learning Group is a proud community partner supporting efforts to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence on women, children and families.<\/p>\n
